Upgrading to DXCC Database version 2.2.2

DXCC Database version 2.2.2 changes several entity prefixes used by DXLab applications:

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Install DXCC Database version 2.2.2
    1. if you have DXView, SpotCollector, and/or DXKeeper running, terminate them

    2. download and run the zip archive from http://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxview/DXCC.exe

    3. if you have DXView installed, unzip the contents of this zip archive into DXView's Databases folder

      • DXKeeper and SpotCollector will automatically reference the new version from this one location

      • note that the Unzip to Folder box is set to c:\program files\dxlab suite\dxview\databases - if your DXView is installed in a location other than c:\program files\dxlab suite\dxview, appropriately modify this pathname before clicking the Unzip button

    4. if you don't have DXView installed, unzip the contents of this zip archive into DXKeeper's Databases folder (if DXKeeper is installed) and into SpotCollector's Databases folder (if SpotCollector is installed)

      • modify the Unzip to Folder box to the appropriate pathname for DXKeeper and/or SpotCollector before clicking the Unzip button

  2. Install updated country maps for DXView
    1. download and run the zip archive from http://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxview/NewCountryMaps.exe

    2. unzip the contents of this zip archive into DXView's Maps folder

      • note that the Unzip to Folder box is set to c:\program files\dxlab suite\dxview\maps - if your DXView is installed in a location other than c:\program files\dxlab suite\dxview, appropriately modify this pathname before clicking the Unzip button

  3. Install an updated DXCC file for WinWarbler (skip if you don't use WinWarbler)

    1. terminate WinWarbler if its running

    2. download and run the zip archive from http://www.dxlabsuite.com/winwarbler/WinWarblerDXCClist.exe

    3. unzip the contents of this zip archive into WinWarbler's Databases folder

      1. note that the Unzip to Folder box is set to c:\program files\dxlab suite\winwarbler\databases - if your WinWarbler is installed in a location other than c:\program files\dxlab suite\winwarbler, appropriately modify this pathname before clicking the Unzip button

  4. Install updated Joe DX audio announcements for SpotCollector (skip if you don't use SpotCollector)

    1. terminate SpotCollector if its running

    2. download and run the zip archive from http://www.dxlabsuite.com/spotcollector/Announcements_2007_08_13.exe

    3. unzip the contents of this zip archive into SpotCollector's Sounds folder

      1. note that the Unzip to Folder box is set to c:\program files\dxlab suite\spotcollector\sounds - if your SpotCollector is installed in a location other than c:\program files\dxlab suite\spotcollector, appropriately modify this pathname before clicking the Unzip button

  5. Update your Pathfinder search library (skip if you don't use Pathfinder)
    1. run Pathfinder
    2. click the Update button in the upper-left corner of its Main window

    3. if you are running a version of Pathfinder earlier than 4.4.5, terminate and restart it to gain access to the updated searches
  6. Update your log in DXKeeper to use the new entity prefixes (skip if you don't use DXKeeper)
    1. run DXKeeper
    2. open the Config window's Log tab, and click the Log panel's Backup button

    3. open the Main window's Check Progress tab, and click the Recomp button

      • DXKeeper will display a report showing all changes made to QSOs in your log
    4. if you have more than one Log file, then repeat steps 6b and 6c after opening each Log file

  7. Update your Spot Database in SpotCollector to use the new entity prefixes (skip if you don't use SpotCollector)

    1. run SpotCollector

    2. open the Config window's Spot Database tab and click the Recomp button in the Log file referenced for award progress panel
