Generating a VUCC Submission

DXKeeper can automatically choose the minimal set of confirmed QSOs to submit to the ARRL in pursuit of your VUCC award objectives. DXKeeper enables you to create and manage a QSL card submission and a separate LotW submission.

If you're planning to generate and submit both a QSL card submission and a separate LotW submission and your preference when there's a choice is to submit a QSL card, then

If your preference when there's a choice is to submit an LotW submission, then

The step-by-step instructions below assume that an LotW submission is preferred when there's a choice.

In preparation for generating a submission, verify that your award objectives are properly specified, and backup your log by clicking the Backup button in the Configuration window's Log tab.

Display the VUCC Submission window by clicking the Submission button in the VUCC panel on the Main window's Check Progress tab; in this window,

  1. check the LotW confirmations box.

  2. assemble a submission that includes QSOs confirmed via LotW by clicking the Assemble Submission button; DXKeeper will inspect each of your QSOs confirmed via LotW, and promote those to be submitted by setting their VUCC vfy items to S.

  3. create a Submission Report report by clicking the Create Submission Report button.

  4. review the Submission Report; if necessary, you can manually remove a QSO from the submission -- for example, a QSO with a station not yet approved for VUCC -- by clearing its VUCC vfy item. If you perform any manual modifications, return to the previous step before proceeding.

  5. login to your LotW Account, select the appropriate VUCC Award Account, and create a VUCC application specifying the QSOs listed in the Submission report
  6. after the ARRL processes your VUCC application,
    • for any QSO rejected for WAS credit by the ARRL, set change its VUCC vfy item from 'S' to 'I'

    • in the VUCC Submission window, click the Verify Submission button; this will change the VUCC vfy item of each QSO that received VUCC Award Credit from 'S' to 'V'

  7. check the VUCC Submission window's QSL Cards box

  8. assemble a submission that includes QSOs confirmed via QSL card by clicking the Assemble Submission button; DXKeeper will inspect each of your QSOs confirmed via QSL card, and promote those to be submitted by setting their VUCC vfy items to S.

  9. create a Submission Report report by clicking the Create Submission Report button.

  10. sort your QSL cards in the order they appear in the Submission Report and send them with your VUCC application to a VHF Award Manager.

  11. after the ARRL processes your VUCC application,
    • for any QSO rejected for VUCC credit by the ARRL, set change its VUCC vfy item from 'S' to 'I'

    • in the VUCC Submission window, click the Verify Submission" button; this will change the VUCC vfy item of each QSO that received VUCC Award Credit from 'S' to 'V'
