Creating a Station Location
using Windows Explorer, open the file C:\Program Files\LOTW\TrustedQSL and double-click the application file tqsl; the TQSL window will appear
in the TQSL window, select the Station:Add Location menu item; the Add Station Location window will appear
in the Add Station Location window, specify your callsign, grid square, ITU zone, CQ zone, and IOTA tag
- select your callsign
- specify the Grid Square in which your station is located (this is particularly important if you operate on VHF or UHF frequencies or via Satellites, as it provides Grid Square credit to your QSO partners pursuing VUCC awards)
- specify the ITU Zone in which your station is located (if you're not certain, configure DXView's World map to display ITU zone boundaries and note the ITU zone in which your QTH lies)
- specify the CQ Zone in which your station is located (if you're not certain, configure DXView's World map to display CQ zone boundaries and note the CQ zone in which your QTH lies)
if your station is located on an island, specify its IOTA tag; use a two-character continent abbreviation followed by a dash and a 3 digit number, e.g. OC-005. If you do not know your IOTA designation, you can find this information in http://www.rsgbiota.org
click the Next button
- if your station lies in the United States,
in the Add Station Location window, select your state (this is particularly important as it provides US State credit to your QSO partners pursuing WAS awards)
- select your county
click the Next button
in the Add Station Location window, specify a Station Location Name
to make this name meaningful, it is recommended that it incorporate both your callsign and town name, e.g. AA6YQ-Wayland or your callsign and county, e.g. AA6YQ-Middlesex
click the Finish button
if DXKeeper is running, click the Update button to the right of the station location selector in the TQSL panel on the LotW tab of DXKeeper's QSL Configuration window; this will update DXKeeper's station location selector with the station location you just defined
LotW is now installed and configured on yor PC; next phase: Configure DXKeeper for Interaction with LotW
