This release - when notified that WinWarbler has started, sends it the user-defined field settings on a separate thread (reliability improvement) - when spotting a QSO from the Capture window whose frequency is 50 mhz or higher, properly obtains the spotting grid square from the specified default QTH ID; if no default QTH ID is specified, uses the grid square specified by the default QTH latitude and longitude (tnx to Matt N0EYE) - doesn't expand or in a QSL Message if no distance can be computed for a QSO (tnx to Stan N1ZX) - provides the option to specify that a QSO has received partial DXCC credit: Entity only, Entity and Band only, and Entity and Mode only (tnx to Joe W4TV) - provides a "VUCC vfy" item in the Main window's QSL tab (tnx to Jim AA0MZ) - provides the ability to report discrepancies between log verification status and ARRL DXCC verification status (tnx to Art W2NRA) - adds the JT4A, JT4B, JT4C, JT4D, JT4E, JT4F, JT4G, JT65B, and JT65C modes defined in ADIF 2.2.6 - provides the ability to specify the frequency precision used in ADIF and tab-delimited files exported from the QSL Queue (tnx to Adam AD2AM) - provides the ability select the date format used on QSL cards, QSL labels, and in tab-delimited files exported from the QSL Queue or Log Page Display (tnx to Bill N5VEI) - includes ADIF_VER and PROGRAMVERSION in the header of ADIF files exported from the Main window's "Export QSOs" tab (tnx to David KJ4IZW) - if Windows reports a "the directory or file cannot be created" error while creating a backup, conveys this information to the user (tnx to Art WB4MNK) - updates the Primary Subdivision Database in support of changes to Russian subyekts implemented by SRR and in in ADIF 2.2.6 (tnx to Mike K1MK and Joe W4TV) ---1. Adds district YA-40 Zhataj - updates the Configuration.htm, Export.htm, Items.htm, Progress.htm, QSL.htm, and QSLConfiguration.htm documentation files Notes 1. Because this release adds two new fields to each QSO and implements a change in the STATE and CNTY codes used to represent the subyekt Zabaykalsky Kraj and its constituent districts in Asiatic Russia, it will perform a "log update" procedure when opening a log for the first time. Before starting the log update procedure, DXKeeper will offer to make a log backup; please accept this offer, as your log once updated will not be "open-able" by versions of DXKeeper earlier 8.7.3. The log update procedure initializes each QSO's newly-added fields, and changes its subyekt and district codes if appropriate; any changes made will be shown in a report displayed when the log update has been completed. Since DXKeeper's US County spelling corrector and Canadian Province abbreviation corrector have been improved since the last release that required the log update process, you may see that additional corrections have been made. 2. If you didn't start submitting QSOs to the ARRL's DXCC desk before 1991, then each QSO you submitted was credited to your DXCC account for its entity, entity-band, and entity-mode. Prior to 1991, a QSO you submitted may have been credited to your DXCC account for its entity, or for its entity and entity-band but not for its entity-mode (or vice versa). If you have QSOs in this state of "partial credit", check the new "Partial DXCC Credit" box in the "Log Settings" panel on the Config window's Log tab, and you'll be able to set such a QSO's QSL_RCVD item to 'E' (Entity-only), 'B' (Entity and Entity-Band only), or 'M' (Entity and Entity-Mode only). If you do this, be sure to upgrade to DXView 3.4.0, as the DXCC progress display in previous versions of DXView won't display 'E', 'B', or 'M' status. 3. The VUCC progress report now only considers a QSO "verified" if the QSO's "VUCC vfy" item is set to 'V' in the QSL panel on the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab. In previous versions of DXKeeper, the VUCC progress report considered a QSO verified for VUCC if it's "QSL RCVD" item was set to 'V', which was incorrect. 4. In order to generate a DXCC discrepancy report (Main Window's "Check Progress" tab, "DXCC, Challenge, & TopList" panel, Verification button), DXKeeper must be able to log in to the ARRL's LotW web page with your credentials, so you must have your LotW username and password specified on the "QSL Config" window's LotW tab; if you've been successfully syncing with LotW, you're all set. If you have more than one DXCC account, you must determine the "account number" associated with each such account, as described in and specify the appropriate account number in the "Log Settings" panel on the Config window's Lot tab. Note that the Verification function only displays discrepancies between the DXCC credits (verifications) shown in your log and the DXCC credits shown in your DXCC account on the ARRL's LotW web page; it makes no changes to your log. Thus if you invoke the Verification function with the wrong DXCC account number specified, you'll be presented with a list of invalid discrepancies, but no damage will have been done. 5. Unfortunately, the two award-granted agencies that ADIF references for the definitions of subyekt (ADIF STATE) and district (ADIF CNTY) codes for Asiatic Russia are not consistent in their handling of the renamed subyekt "Zabaykalsky Kraj". SRR still uses the code CT associated with the subyekt's previous name (Chita), whereas RDA recoded the districts in Zabaykalsky Kraj from CT-nn to ZK-nn. Therefore ADIF defines the STATE code for Zabaykalsky Kraj to be CT, and defines the CNTY codes for districts within Zabaykalsky Kraj as ZK-nn. In the interest of consistency, DXKeeper 8.7.3 uses ZK as the code for Zabaykalsky Kraj and ZK-nn as the codes for districts within Zabaykalsky Kraj; thus when you log a QSO with a station in Zabaykalsky Kraj, set it's subyekt to ZK. To maintain ADIF compliance, QSOs with stations in Zabaykalsky Kraj are exported with a STATE of CT; when importing a QSO whose STATE is CT, DXKeeper creates a QSO whose STATE is ZK. SRR Progress and Submission reports display the code CT for Zabaykalsky Kraj. If anyone has an "in" with the SRR folks, please ask them to change the code for Zabaykalsky Kraj from CT to SK. DXKeeper 8.7.3 is available via the DXLab Launcher and via 73, Dave, AA6YQ
