Extensions in this release required adding new items to the Main window's "My QTHs" tab and to the QSL Queue, requiring DXKeeper to update each log it opens. Before doing so, DXKeeper 12.8.2 will offer to backup your current log. Because an updated log will not be accessible with previous versions of DXKeeper, accepting this backup offer is strongly recommended. This release - if DXKeeper is unable to obtain "LoTW News" via TQSL due to a time out, resets the TQSL operational state flag (tnx to Jerry WB0DEK) - when checking the consistency of the US State and US County in a "Sync LoTW QSLs" operation, takes into account the possible use of lower case letters in the State or County (tnx to Tim K9WX) - properly filters the Log Page Display when a row or column header is double-clicked in the "Progress Details" panel on the "Realtime Award Tracking" window's WAZ tab (tnx to Salvatore I4FYV) - when no entry is selected in the "WAZ Award Progress" table on the "Realtime Award Tracking" window's WAZ tab, disables the "Progress Details Panel" (tnx to Salvatore I4FYV) - correctly deletes a myQTH that hasn't been saved (tnx to Salvatore I4FYV) - prevents an overflow in ADIF.StripBinary (tnx to Art K6XT) - if a QSO's RX frequency or band is invalid, doesn't consider this as a serious error requiring immediate correction (tnx to Iain N6ML) - after being directed to terminate, doesn't attempt to re-initiate any lost connections to other applications - provides the ability to save all SQL filters to a file, and restore all SQL filters from a file (tnx to Norm W4QN) - responds to a ? typed into the Capture window's Call textbox by display a red line above the Call textbox until either a specified number of seconds elapses with no new key being struck, or the space bar is struck; after the red line disappears, the next non-? key struck will replace the left-most question mark (tnx to Norm W4QN and Rich W3ZJ) - provides the option to update DXView's QTH when a default "my QTH" is selected (there's a new "Update DXView on default QTH change" box in the "Log Settings" panel on the Configuration window's Log tab) - on the "Main window's "My QTHs" tab, renames the "State" item to "Pri Sub", and the "County" item to "Sec Sub" - adds an Ant item to the Main window's "My QTHs" tab, and provides and QSL substitution commands; the former returns the entire contents of the Ant item specified in the "Default QTH"; the extracts the description of the antenna for the current band from the Ant item specified in the "Default QTH", as described in note 3 below (tnx to Ed DF9DD) - makes the default myQTH's city, primary subdivision, secondary subdivision, CQ zone, ITU zone, IOTA tag, Rig, and Antenna accessible to other applications (tnx to Ed DF9DD) - accepts a DDE command from other applications to set the default QTH ID (tnx to Tom NY4I) - provides the option to update DXView's QTH when a default "my QTH" is selected (tnx to Tom NY4I) - provides a new "Default QSL Message" panel (Configuration window, Defaults tab) with the ability to update a candidate QSL message and review candidate QSL messages (tnx to Salvatore I4FYV) - accepts and QSL substitution commands that are replaced by a QSO's primary and secondary administrative subdivisions, respectively - accepts a QSL substitution that is replaced by the current UTC date formatted as specified in the QSL Date Format panel - accepts , , , and QSL substitution commands that are replaced by a QSO's grid square, iota tag, CQ/WAE/WAB/IARC region, and DARC DOK items, respectively - interprets \< and \> as escape characters in the "Modify QSOs" panel's "Item New Value" textbox and in Script Modify commands (tnx to Salvatore I4FYV and Iain N6ML) - provides a new "Reply Card" option in the "QSL Via" panel on the Main window's QSL tab that when selected prints a Reply Card for QSOs in the QSL Queue; each QSO's Notes field is populated by the contents of its QSL Message, primary administrative subdivision, secondary administrative subdivision, grid square, IOTA tag, region, and DOK items (tnx to Frank ON4AAC, Steven AC9GK, Joe W4TV, Nuno CT2IRY, Michael N1EN, Howard AE7SW, Bob KA9JAC, Mike W0MU, and Aubrey W70LY) - includes updated DOK award definitions (tnx to Koen ON7RK) - updates the Configuration.htm, ConfifgureLogPageDisplay.htm, FilterLog.htm, Import.htm, LogNewCapture.htm, ModifyLog.htm, MultipleQTHs.htm, QSL.htm, QSLConfiguration.htm, QSLMedia.htm, and Scripts.htm documentation files Notes: 1. When opening a log with DXKeeper 12.8.2 for the first time, it will offer to make backup of that log before updating it; accepting this offer is strongly recommended. 2. The new "Question Mark replacement delay" setting (Configuration window, General tab, "Capture Options" panel) specifies the number of seconds that must elapse with no new key being struck for the red line above the Capture window's Call box to dissappear; you can specify a number from 0 to 9 (seconds) 3. A QTH's Ant item can specify descriptions for multiple antennas on a band-by-band basis, enabling the substitution command to return the description of the antenna associated with a QSO's band in the "QSL Message" printed on a QSL card or wide label. The format of such a description is [antX: description] where "X" is the band, and "description" is the description of the antenna for that band. For example, here's a description of three antennas: [ant160m:1/4 wave inverted L][ant80m:1/4 wave vertical][ant40m:F12 240/420 @ 80'] and three confirmed QSOs with in their "QSL Message" items: 4. The new "Update DXView on default QTH change" checkbox (Configuration window, Log tab, "Log Settings" panel) determines whether or not DXView's QTH is updated when a default "my QTH" is selected in that panel 5. A "Reply card" is a QSL card that you print for your QSO partner and send to him or her to sign, and then mail back to you. For an example, see To print Reply cards for each entry in the QSL Queue, set the "QSl Via" panel on the Main window's QST tab to "Reply card". 6. So many DXLab users contributed to this release that I undoubtedly missed someone; my apologies (and thanks!) to whoever that may be. DXKeeper 12.8.2 is available via the DXLab Launcher and via 73, Dave, AA6YQ
